Intelligibility
What is intelligibility in speech therapy?
How well strangers can understand your child's speech. At age 2: ~50% intelligible. Age 3: ~75%. Age 4: ~100%. If strangers can't understand your 3-year-old most of the time, consider evaluation.
Example

⚠️ When to Seek Help
Consider consulting a speech-language pathologist if:
- Your child is frustrated or avoids speaking
- Others have difficulty understanding your child
- You notice regression (losing skills they had)
- Your gut tells you something isn't right
Trust your instincts. Early evaluation is always better than waiting.
